Hammerson masters the art of cake decorating
12 Apr 2019
On the 11th April King’s Place hosted a cake decorating master class in aid of The Outward Bound Trust, our Employee Charity Partner.
Over 30 colleagues enjoyed the master class led by Chef Anna Paula, who previously competed in Master Chef: The Professionals. After a demonstration of piping techniques and decoration ideas, participants were let loose on a sea of cakes and cupcakes. The buttercream was flowing and sugar decorations were applied in abundance.
When the buttercream finally ran out, the finished decorated cakes were awarded in various categories by our guest judge from The Outward Bound Trust.
The cakes were then sold in the canteen to raise money for The Outward Bound Trust. With the proceeds of the cake sale and ticket entry, we are pleased to say the event raised £230.66. The Hammerson Charities Committee generously match funded the event meaning, in total, £461.32 was donated to The Outward Bound Trust. This money will help to send underprivileged children on incredible skill-building weeks in rural locations.
