Lyons Works Building becomes a work of art

​New artwork on the façade of the Lyons Works building on Templar Lane is now complete following a partnership between Hammerson, Leeds College of Art, and renowned local artist, Peter Barber, who specialises in bespoke handcrafted murals and signs.

Community day 2016

​On the 10th June 2016, Hammerson had it’s annual Community Day, which coincided with National Volunteering Week (volunteersweek.org/) With 220 employees covering 18 activities, Hammerson was well spread across a multitude of locations from Bristol to Aberdeen. Whether it was building fences, painting walls, inspiring children or refereeing, there was something for all staff to get involved with.

Supplier Survey Report 2016

​2016 was the fourth year for our Annual Supplier Survey. As a property development and asset management company much of our business activity is delivered through our supply chain. Developing a systematic but simple approach to monitoring the sustainability standards of our suppliers is therefore critical to the achievement of our sustainability targets. Our supply chain survey allows us to understand current practice amongst our suppliers, and ensure they are aware of and signed up to the Hammerson Code of Conduct. By completing the survey, our suppliers are given a score and associated award level- Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. They also see how their score compares to a benchmark of our suppliers in their sector and are provided with feedback on areas for improvement.

Better Buildings Partnership launches case study on our collaborative project with B&Q

21 Apr 2016

At Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil, Hammerson and B&Q partnered to create an Eco Learning Store. It is one of the first projects in the UK to feature a Transpired Solar Collector system, which harvests the sun’s heat to warm the store’s interior, cutting energy bills and CO2 emissions.
